Presents new narratives of identity through notions of the decorative in the form of saturated and seductive patterns
Jonathan Velardi is a contemporary visual artist and illustrator based in Berkshire. Velardi's mixed media practice predominantly focuses on print and the repeated image and his interest in working with public spaces is reflected in public art commissions across the United Kingdom and abroad. These include a number of large-scale animated billboards and wallpaper installations, centred around the themes of cultural identity.
Since graduating from The Slade School of Fine Art, London, Velardi has pursued to introduce contemporary art into urban environments by exploring the boundaries of his practice with non-traditional art audiences, presenting a conceptual collage of colour and pattern inspired by the everyday.
