A deep love of landscape and environment
Leo du Feu was born and brought up in Scotland, graduating from Edinburgh College of Art in 2006 and now painting full-time from his hometown of Linlithgow. He takes his inspiration from Scotland's landscape and wildlife. Natural history and conservation are very important to him, birds in particular increasingly appear in his work.
Leo's work is shown throughout the UK. His largest commission to date is on permanent display at the UK Astronomy Technology Centre at the Royal Observatory Edinburgh. Leo is a winner of an RSW travel award and in 2010 journeyed across Canada as a Royal Over-Seas League Arts Commonwealth Travel Scholar. An ongoing project supported by ScotRail sees Leo capturing in paint landscapes accessible from the Aberdeen-Inverness, Glasgow-Stranraer and world famous West Highland railway lines. The Royal Over-Seas League on Edinburgh's Princes Street is currently hosting a large solo exhibition of these works.
