A contemporary twist on traditional sculpture-making crafts and processes
Susan Forsyth is an Irish sculptor living and working in London. She gilds steel and cardboard structures with real or fake gold leaf and casts contemporary ephemera in iron, bronze and plaster.
Susan Forsyth originally trained as a painter, graduating from Chelsea College of Art & Design in 2006. She began making sculpture during her MA and was immediately short-listed for the prestigious Jerwood Sculpture Prize 2009. Since then she has exhibited widely across the UK and Europe and in 2011 was a finalist in the Royal British Society of Sculptors, First 108 Public Art Award.
